ALEKSANDER KMIEC: Aleksander was born in Poland. He studied classical ballet at the Poznan Ballet School after which he danced in operatta for two years. This was followed by a further two years with the Grand Theatre Lodz,which in turn was followed by eight years with the 'SLANSK' Polish Dance Company. During his stay with 'SLANSK' Aleksander toured the world but decided to remain in Australia after the Company's Australasian tour in 1974. Miss Karen partnered Aleksander when promoted to Principal dancer after Christine Howard retired as Principal to become the Character teacher at the Australian Ballet School.
